Fire Protection for Buildings

Fire Protection for Buildings

Telesto has designed a special fire protection system called the Fixed Mist Fire Suppression System to protect various types of buildings, including office spaces and warehouse-production halls.

This Telesto system is based on a modern method of extinguishing fires using water mist. The unique properties of the Telesto system are achieved through the use of special gas-water nozzles creating a uniform mist stream with droplet sizes ranging from 15-40 μm. Due to such small droplet diameters, a very large surface area of sprayed water is achieved, enabling rapid heat exchange with the surroundings and providing excellent extinguishing properties of the generated mist with relatively low water consumption.

The Fixed Mist Fire Suppression System has been designed as an alternative to firefighting systems based on halons, CO2, or other environmentally harmful gases, as well as sprinkler or foam systems requiring large amounts of water. It is a low-pressure, dual-media system that is environmentally safe and uses compressed air or nitrogen and water to produce very fine water mist.

For room protection, Telesto offers firefighting systems powered by media supplied by the customer or equipped with their own power supply. Solutions proposed in this field require adaptation to the individual needs of the customer and the conditions existing in their buildings. Telesto engineers, after a local survey, will propose an optimized system that will adequately protect the designated rooms or equipment.
